Any chance someone can Photoshop this to slide that D pillar up to the C pillar and maybe give us an idea of what the Sportspace would look like as a the new Optima sedan?

That looks sharp, I just wish the windows weren't so skinny. My kids wouldn't be able to see out the back window.

After Hyundai kind of bungled the new Sonata (going from gaudy and overstyled to boring), I was kind of afraid Kia was going to go the same route, only since the current Optima is an attractive car, the results would have been much worse.

Fortunately, that doesn't seem to be the case at all. I don't know what's going on, but it seems like Schreyer keeps saving his best work for Kia. Maybe he has more autonomy on that side of the group?

My suspicion is that they're trying to differentiate the brands a little more. We always knew Hyundai needed to be more upscale, and Kia needed to be more sporty, but that doesn't mean both companies were going to get on board with the idea.
